History

BCTI began as a computer training company in May 1983, offering classes and seminars covering word processing and spreadsheets. Our clientele expanded considerably over the next seven years to include programmers who developed customized software packages for needs ranging from inventory tracking to employee attendance.

In 1990, partners Dr. Gene Bailey and J. Chase Boles opened our first separate office on Knob Creek Road and began expanding our services by offering network consulting, configuration and support.   This growth required us to move to larger offices in 1992 on Oakland Avenue. Mr. Boles completed the course work and certifications required to become a Novell Certified NetWare Engineer, one of the first CNE’s in the area. BCTI began installing networks throughout Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. In 1995, we expanded our facilities on Oakland Avenue, and in 1996, Mr. Boles purchased Dr. Bailey’s share of the company. Class offerings and networking services steadily increased, and in 1999, the company moved to a 10,000 square foot space Boones Creek. In January 2013, BCTI moved to our company-owned facilities in Gray on Bobby Hicks Highway.

Today BCTI employs more than 25 people who hold more than 145 industry certifications and years of combined skills and experience. Our staff’s expertise in the field and in the classroom enables us to maintain our leadership role in technology.
